GYAN DOOKIE – ELECTIONS 2025, I'M RUNNING!

Who Am I?

I’m the father of two teenagers, a lecturer in workplace development, an active sports enthusiast, and a long-time musician from Laaksolahti, Espoo. In addition, I serve as a deputy member of the Espoo City Council and the Western Uusimaa Regional Council (Greens, independent), as well as a member of the “Elinvoimainen Espoo” steering group. I hold master’s degrees in social sciences and philosophy, I’m a qualified vocational teacher, and a black belt taekwondo practitioner.

I stand for education, culture, diversity, the environment, and the dignity of every human being. I believe in constructive cooperation and that things can always be done better and more innovatively. I don’t expect everyone to agree on everything; on the contrary, I believe that in decision-making, multiple perspectives usually improve the quality of the outcome.

Municipal Elections – Espoo, Candidate #9

I want to promote an open, forward-looking, and innovative atmosphere in Espoo, where everyone feels at home and no one is discriminated against. Schools must be guaranteed sufficient resources to ensure high-quality education and the well-being of both teachers and students. Preventing segregation and ensuring successful integration of immigrants are central goals for me.

Regional Elections – Western Uusimaa, Candidate #2129

I want to promote the implementation of customer-centered, equitable, and accessible services in the wellbeing services county, and ensure that even the most vulnerable receive the social and healthcare services they need. Access to mental health services for young people must be improved, and preventive cooperation with NGOs must be increased. The ethical and ecological use of artificial intelligence should be promoted.

Election Promises

  • I promise to promote the customer-oriented, equal, barrier-free, and accessible delivery of services in Espoo and the Western Uusimaa wellbeing services county – and to firmly stand on the side of those in weaker positions. People with low incomes must also receive the social and healthcare services they need.
  • I also support the ethical, ecological, and privacy-conscious use of artificial intelligence to improve the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of social and healthcare services – without losing human interaction.
  • I promise to invest in youth mental health services, the quality of care for the elderly, and preventive cooperation with NGOs. In Espoo, I will defend high-quality education, early childhood education, and culture by ensuring adequate resources for schools, kindergartens, and cultural actors who have faced funding cuts.
  • Preventing segregation – the division between population groups – and successful immigrant integration are among my top priorities for the next council term.
  • I promise to promote ecologically sustainable urban and regional development that preserves biodiversity and protects local forests and green areas for sports and recreational use. The development of the urban environment must consider sustainable transport, green infrastructure, and the importance of proximity to nature for well-being.
